Last Sunday we set up our crib that we ordered. We wanted to make sure that everything looked good and that it would be a sturdy, safe crib for the little bugger. We had fun working on it together while we listened to Taylor Swift's new CD "Fearless". Which by the way, I adore that girl. She writes a lot of her own music, she is talented and she has great morals and hasn't given in to the sleaziness of Hollywood yet. I will support her any day.

So, here it is. We also bought a mattress and a mattress pad that are in it now, but they didn't arrive till a few days later so I don't have a picture yet. I have to say that I like seeing it in our spare bedroom. Every once in a while I will walk in there and look at it, but it doesn't seem real yet.
We find out what we are having in less than three weeks!

Family and Friends

We have been lucky to have Bryce's sister and her family come stay with us for two weekends while they drive all the way from Idaho for volleyball tournaments. It has been fun to be able to spend some time with them because we don't get to see them often.

So to celebrate, Bryce thought it would be a good idea to torture them with Shimaho (I have no idea how to spell that). It is a Brazilian drink that looks like weed and smells and tastes like hay. As you can tell by some of their reactions it tastes even worse than it sounds!

We also had the chance to go to the Draper Temple open house with our neighbors. It was such a great feeling to be in one of the Lord's houses. Although it hadn't been dedicated yet you could tell that this was more than just another beautiful building. Afterwards, we hung out with Mike and Heather because they live in Draper and we don't get to see them more than once a month if we are lucky. They have a wii and they downloaded Yoshi for us which is my favorite game in the entire world. Heather and I used to play this game when we were in junior high together and I couldn't get enough of it. I think she probably got annoyed with me because that is all I wanted to do when I went over to her house.

My Eggo is......

PREGO!

For those of you who haven't read my mom's blog already and figured it out... I am pregnant. I am 11 weeks and sicker than I have ever been in my entire life. Good times.

I thought that telling everyone would be exciting and fun but I have been putting off this post for a little while because it is kind of a sad subject for me. I have so many friends and family members that are either struggling to have a baby, have lost a baby or babies or have not been able to have one at all. How do you tell someone in that situation that you are pregnant and expect them to be happy for you? I love these people so dearly and it makes me feel guilty. Why should I be able to have a child?

So I am writing this post not to brag or ask anyone to be excited for me, but just to tell everyone. We are very excited and just trying to prepare for the future the best we know how. So we are definitely open for suggestions, tips, pointers, anything!

The New Year

For New Years Eve Bryce and I went to my cousin's house for a nerd party. I knew all we would have to do is rummage through my little brother Jason's closet and we could find something to wear. One of his favorite things to do is shop at DI for wacky clothes. Sometimes he wears them as normal clothing and sometimes he goes all out if he is going to a stomp. My cousin Kim came out from California and it was really nice to see her.

It is physically impossible for these two to look bad, even when dressed up as nerds.

We also went up to Idaho to spend some time with Bryce's sister and her family. We haven't seen them in a while so it was fun to catch up and spend some time with them. They taught us how to play the Wii and kicked our butts in every game.
Ashtyn and Jensen rockin the wii

Ansleigh took great care of Bella while we were up there. She even tucked her into bed and cuddled her to sleep.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while (Chrissy :P ) Here are some pics from the past month or so.

Below are pics of my family on Black Friday. This is a favorite holiday of ours, we mostly go for the experience and it is only my second year. This year we shopped from 5 am to 12:30 pm. Gotta love it! It's a requirement to look gross when you have been up since 4:30 am so don't look too closely. Unfortunately Bryce had to work so he didn't get to come this year. The dogs also had a fun time hanging out for a few days. I think Max enjoyed it the most. ;)

The happy Shoppers

And here are some of the Christmas pictures we took.

A few odds and ends

Since I haven't updated in a while here are a few random things from the past few weeks:

First and scariest is that I found four different charges on my credit card that I had no idea what they were. I had paid off the card and made only one purchase on it since then and had been keeping it in a box, but last month there were charges on it from Nevada. I called the card company and they gave me a phone number that was the same for all four charges. When I called it, it was an automated system talking about account updates, but it didn't say the name of the company and there were no options to speak to anyone. It just hung up on me. I called twice just to make sure and then called my credit card company back. They cancelled the card, took the charges off my account, notified the three major credit companies and they are investigating the charges. I am so scared! If anyone has experience or advice let me know. I don't know if there is more that I should be doing or not. And I am clueless as to how they got my account information which is even more scary.

On a lighter note, here is a picture of the two brain dead dogs. We put these craft button things on their noses and they didn't even notice they were there! He He! We like to find different ways to torture the poor things and laugh at them. What else are dogs for? jk

Here is a picture of our thankful jar that we made. Jennifer invited us over one night for FHE and this is what they were doing. We weren't able to go but I liked the idea and thought I would copy her. I guarantee theirs looed professional and not 2nd grade-homemade like mine but it's what's inside that counts right?

These are a few of the things we wrote down during the month. It was fun to go back through them and find out what each other had written. Some were funny and some were serious, but there is a story behind all of them. It is nice to have a holiday every year centered around being grateful.
