Taggies and Snuggies

Jayda bug is smiling more and more each day. It is so much fun! Last night I was feeding her a bottle and decided to try singing to her. She stopped eating and just looked at me and smiled the whole time. That will probably be one of those moments I will always remember.

Saturday we went to Orchard Lanes Bowling to celebrate Jason's and Landon's birthday. We had a blast and so did Jayda, but I think she was totally overstimulated and didn't go to bed until after midnight.

Lets play a game..... In the next three pictures try to find the person or persons that weren't intended to be in the picture. Hint: in the first two there is only one extra person but in the second two there are two extra people.

Yes, this is the face of a mesmerized, overstimulated little girl, but then again she looks like this a lot. :) I think she is just trying to take everything in.

And yes, Bryce had played 18 holes of golf earlier and did not wear sunscreen.
After bowling we went to my parents' house to open presents and have pie. This is Jason and his new snuggie. It was his favorite gift he got from Landon.

Landon doesn't have a snuggie. He has a regular blanket and therefore can't use his arms.

This last picture is of Jayda and her Taggie. My aunt Rachel gave it to her and it is awesome! She doesn't love pacifiers and so I rarely even try to give them to her but she loves this Taggie. It has all sorts of different textures and ribons on the sides and is gorgeous. She grabs onto it and puts the whole thing in her face. Love it!

Conference weekend we went up with my parents and took family photos. Here is one of just our little family.
This is Jayda all tuckered out afterwards.
Jayda (and I) is lucky to have some beautiful women in her life. They are beautiful on the inside and the outside. The following three pictures are pictures of her Grandma West, Great Grandma Kinnear and Great Grandma West.

Sunday October 11th we blessed her in the Oak Hills Ward. I couldn't have asked for anything better. We were both worried about everything going smoothly, but Jayda was a little sweetheart and didn't cry through her blessing at all. I was pretty convinced that she would. My dad and I both bet on that one being a garauntee. Bryce gave her a beautiful blessing. We also had lots of people come to support us and we were really grateful for that.

2 Months

Jayda bug is 2 months old now :) Here are her stats-

Height: 23 1/2 inches (95%)
Weight: 11 pounds 4 ounces (65-70%)
Head: 15 inches (35%)

We moved into an apartment in NSL for a few months until we can find a house to move into. We didn't want to rush into anything. It is not a bad little place despite the lack of dishwasher, microwave and washer & dryer. It will be another one of those time we will look back on and laugh about. The first one was when we first got married and lived in Chad's basement (Bryce's friend). Chad didn't turn on the heat and it was march so the temp was about 55 degrees upstairs. We borrowed a little space heater from my parents that... struggled, I'll just put it that way. We also borrowed an air mattress to sleep on which developed a slow leak and would be deflated by the time we woke up in the morning. The other thing was that Chad only had the bunny ears on his TV which if you were lucky picked up one or two stations. I love looking back on those two months in spite of the insane cold and hard floor. We were newly weds which was fun and we spent a lot of time together without the TV and we read our scriptures nightly (we aren't that good right now). Hopefully living in this apartment will be another one of those experiences.
This is Bryce dancing with his little girl. I think we are in trouble cause she is already enjoying the rap music. We have ruined her already.
Bath time has become one of my favorite times now that she is not so fragile. She lets her little foot dangle in the water and just sits and enjoys the warm water.
I am not a believer in butt or other private part pictures so there is a strategically placed wash cloth in this pic. Bet you thought that was just a coincidence huh? JK Jayda will thank me one day for that. :)
This is one of her favorite positions to hang out in and sleep. I can usually get her calmed down if I hold her like this.

This is Bella....

This is the bottle of bitter spray that was supposed to detract our little chewer from chewing...

Hmmmm.....

I have to admit that last picture was a staged re-creation, but this bottle was half full when she chewed it up. I think I should send these pictures to their company. Maybe they will give me my money back. I guess that's why she chewed up a whole rug after I sprayed it.

This is Jaydas chunky self hanging out right before her bath. Just a cute picture I wanted to post.
And this is her first real bottle at my Grandma and Grandpa West's house.
K now down to business. We moved last Thursday but still have not closed on our town home. Hopefully that will be happening tomorrow. Don't ask me why title companies are never on time. I am also back at work as of Monday. It hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be. On Sunday the talks in sacrament were about peace, they were really nice and they inspired me to pray for peace in leaving my new daughter all day so I did. I know that Heavenly Father answered my prayer and blessed me with peace. I can't have things perfectly the way I want them but I feel ok with that right now.

Life Changes

Our house has finally sold! It happened really fast and they only gave us until September 10th to be out. We found a house in Clinton that will hopefully work out, but if not, we will probably find a place to rent until we can get something else worked out.

Below are some of Jayda's newborn pictures. I was really happy with how they turned out especially since she was fussy and crying most of the time. She will be one month old on Friday and I can't believe it. I don't like how quickly time is passing, it means I will have to go back to work soon. :(

This is her blessing dress. My mom and I were both blessed in it.

2 week appointment

Jayda had her two week appointment today. She weighs 9 lbs 2 oz which is the 90th percentile, she is 21/5 inches long which is the 95th percentile (can they really grow 2 1/2 inches in two weeks?!) and her head is 36.5 cm which is the 50-75 percentile. Whew! She is a big baby! Not a surprise though. That is how I was. She is doing well and we will go back again when she is 2 months.

On a side note, here are pictures of her room that I never posted. We tried to find a different place for the computer but it wouldn't fit anywhere else. It doesn't go with the decor but we are grateful to have one. :)

These picture frames are waiting for her newborn pictures.

I just wanted to post a few things about Jayda and what she is like so far.
-She is a really great sleeper. She has her schedule of waking up at 9pm, 1am, 5am, and 8am. When she wakes up she just sits there and grunts and tries to suck on her hand or her blanket.
-She doesn't cry a ton. She cries at bath-time and if her tummy hurts from gas. Or when we hire a professional photographer to take her pictures. :)
- One of my favorite things is that she gives us little grins all the time.
We are loving having her here with us and are excited to watch her grow. We feel so blessed to have her here with us and are very grateful that she is part of our family!
