Thought for the day

So these don't occur often, in fact, I don't know if I have posted any profound thoughts on the entire history of this blog, but here is what is on my mind....

I have decided to stay out of the fast lane as much as possible, especially in the drive to and from work. All it does is make me mad. No matter how fast I go there is always someone impatient that feels the need to ride my butt. I have also been flashed by brights a few times. This just makes me angry because I am not a slow driver, I am going WELL over the speed limit. I say that butt riding should be reserved for those going UNDER or at the speed limit in the fast lane, no one else deserves it, and flashing is just flat out piggish and unnecessary.

Anyways, there is my thought for the day and my new resolution to just stay out of the fast lane, even if it makes me drive a little slower than I want to. It isn't worth the stress. So there you go butt riders, you win.

One more thought....
Boo to impatient people! :(

Jayda's ultrasound pictures

Here are a few of the ultrasound pictures we took home with us.

This on is Jayda yawning. She was doing this a lot!

Profile pic with her mouth open and her hand up to her face.

She was holding both of her hands up by her face here.

And another cute little profile picture.

And the monkey is......

This is the Coldstone cake we bought to give to my family. It tasted yummy, but let me just say that our girl is not a fan of sugar. Maybe she will stay that way, she would be better off!

The ultrasound was such an amazing experience. We love the tech that does them so it was really fun to have her there to talk to and to explain what we were looking at. At first baby's legs were crossed so the tech would go to other views and look at the stomach which said that she is 19 weeks and one day, then she measured the femur which said she is 19 weeks and 2 days and then she measured a few things in the brain that said she is 19 weeks and 6 days. From our first ultrasound we thought that I was 18 weeks and four days, so I am about a week more than I thought. Then she came back to a view that looked like absolutely nothing to me and all of a sudden she said " it's a girl". It was so sudden and so matter-of-fact that it threw me off. I had to ask what?! and how are you seeing that?!

The cute little thing kept yawning and we could see her little heart beating about 145 bpm which is right where it should be. Bryce was asking the tech how soon babies could suck their thumbs. She told him that they could at this point. Within a few minutes of him asking she started sucking her thumb as if to say, " look daddy, I can do it!"

We are both so excited and were hoping for a little girl first. Only a little more than 4 months and she will be a part of our family. Crazy. It is such a weird, indescribable feeling to be going through this.

As far as her name goes, we are pretty set on Jada Michelle Schow. We have had this name picked out for a while now and it feels right. We might play with the spelling a bit, but we love the name.

This was us at my parent's house with the cake. I hate this pic of me (cute of Bryce) but it is necessary for documentation I guess. I don't look pregnant, I just look chubby and shiny. I can't say that pregnancy has done good things for my looks. My skin is like a 16 year old's going through puberty. I have acne, bacne, frontne, you name it... I have it. Instead of the cute little bump I thought I would have, it is more like love handles and a muffin top. But who cares right? I am having a girl!!!!!
This is the first little blanket we bought for her. Now that we know she is a girl, we can start buying cute little things for her.
This is the cake that we bought at Target to take to my work. No matter what I did, I could not get this picture to post the right way, so for now it is sideways.
I will upload the ultrasound pics on my computer at home ( I am at work right now) and post those later. They are so much fun!

Last Sunday we set up our crib that we ordered. We wanted to make sure that everything looked good and that it would be a sturdy, safe crib for the little bugger. We had fun working on it together while we listened to Taylor Swift's new CD "Fearless". Which by the way, I adore that girl. She writes a lot of her own music, she is talented and she has great morals and hasn't given in to the sleaziness of Hollywood yet. I will support her any day.

So, here it is. We also bought a mattress and a mattress pad that are in it now, but they didn't arrive till a few days later so I don't have a picture yet. I have to say that I like seeing it in our spare bedroom. Every once in a while I will walk in there and look at it, but it doesn't seem real yet.
We find out what we are having in less than three weeks!

Family and Friends

We have been lucky to have Bryce's sister and her family come stay with us for two weekends while they drive all the way from Idaho for volleyball tournaments. It has been fun to be able to spend some time with them because we don't get to see them often.

So to celebrate, Bryce thought it would be a good idea to torture them with Shimaho (I have no idea how to spell that). It is a Brazilian drink that looks like weed and smells and tastes like hay. As you can tell by some of their reactions it tastes even worse than it sounds!

We also had the chance to go to the Draper Temple open house with our neighbors. It was such a great feeling to be in one of the Lord's houses. Although it hadn't been dedicated yet you could tell that this was more than just another beautiful building. Afterwards, we hung out with Mike and Heather because they live in Draper and we don't get to see them more than once a month if we are lucky. They have a wii and they downloaded Yoshi for us which is my favorite game in the entire world. Heather and I used to play this game when we were in junior high together and I couldn't get enough of it. I think she probably got annoyed with me because that is all I wanted to do when I went over to her house.
